Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Representasi Nilai Bushido Prajurit Jepang dalam film Otoko-Tachi no Yamato” karya Junya Sato 2005. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk merepresentasikan nilai bushido yang tercermin pada para prajurit kapal perang Yamato dalam menjalankan misi dalam film Otoko-tachi no Yamato 2005. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Analisa data dilakukan berdasarkan teori semiotika Saussure. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa para prajurit yang menjalankan misi bunuh diri Ten-Go ke pulau Okinawa tetap menjalankan dan memegang teguh nilai bushido demi menunjukan pengabdian kepada Kaisar dan Negara. Kesimpulan, sikap dan tindakan prajurit kapal perang Yamato dalam dalam misi Ten-go ke pulau Okinawa mencerminkan nilai dalam Bushido (Integritas, Keberanian, Kebajikan, Kehormatan, Kesetiaan) merupakan landasan moral bagi seorang kesatria.
