The poem “Kepada Air Mata” (To the Tears) by Achluddin Ibnu Rochim is a profound exploration of human inner emotions articulated through the symbol of tears. This article analyzes the poem using a hermeneutic and semiotic approach, focusing on symbolic representation and the psychological dimension of silence, grief, longing, and unspoken love. The repetition structure in the poem functions as a meditative rhythm, emphasizing emotional depth and creating a liturgical tone. Each stanza unveils a layer of emotion—ranging from longing and sorrow to vengeance and spiritual fatigue—turning tears into a silent narrative voice of human suffering. The study concludes that tears in this poem serve as existential signs, representing speechless confessions and the sacred bond between pain and spiritual resilience.
