Abstract

The Tedak Siten tradition is an important ritual in Javanese culture where a baby is carried in a procession from its birthplace to its new home. The aim of this research is to analyze the traditional practice of Tedak Shiten in the socio-cultural context of Javanese society. The method used is a qualitative approach using interview, observation and document research data collection techniques. This study shows that this tradition not only has spiritual meaning for the family, but also functions as a means of strengthening social ties between community members. In addition, the practice of Tedak Shiten reflects cultural values ​​that are still upheld even though some aspects of the ritual are starting to change due to the influence of modernization. It is hoped that this research can contribute to a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving traditions in the face of rapid social change. This overview includes the aims of the study.
