Problem solving ability pada mahasiswa: Menguji peran Self-efficacy

Abstract
The research conducted aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic problem-solving abilities in students. The hypothesis put forward is that there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy and the ability to solve problems in students. This research project uses quantitative research methods. The study was conducted on 103 psychology student participants at the University of August 17, 1945. The instruments chosen in this study were a problem-solving ability scale based, a self-efficacy scale based. The data was then analyzed using the Product Moment analysis technique. Based on the results of the research data analysis conducted, the results of a simple correlation test between self-efficacy and problem-solving skills were 0.748 with a significance p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which also means that there is a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and skills. the solution to the problem. The hypothesis is accepted when this study shows that increasing self-efficacy is closely related to student's academic problem solving abilities. The higher the self-efficacy, the higher the ability to solve academic problems, and vice versa.
