Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of thought-stopping therapy to reduce driving anxiety in road traffic accident survivors in Surabaya. The research design used a case study research with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. This study used two participants with the criteria of female, aged 16-30 years, domicile in Surabaya, able to drive, had a high category of driving anxiety, and had a traffic accident in the last 12 months. The research instrument developed by researchers is based on the concept of driving anxiety from Zinzow & Jeffers. The data analysis technique used is the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of this study indicate that thought-stopping therapy is less effective in reducing driving anxiety. For future researchers, it is hoped to pay more attention to the therapy room, such as using a soundproof room and increasing the number of participants.
